Wilderness First Aid (WFA)
Accidents happen. People get hurt, sick, or lost. The temperature drops, the wind picks up, and it starts to rain. Would you know what to do? Many backcountry emergencies are preventable, and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse. By learning a few basic skills, you can make the difference between a good outcome and a bad one-and maybe even save a life.
Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
SOLO’s Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course is the recognized industry standard for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, and ski patrollers.
“I liked that Jim gave very straightforward, practical advice. Past WFA were too focused on acronyms as opposed to acronyms and common sense. Jim explained things so they made sense. I also liked the balance between indoor/classroom time and outdoor simulations.”
“Jim and his dog were great! I like that he told us personal stories and drew from his past experiences (he’s very experienced) Never got bored! So convenient SOLO came to my work place!!!”
“Extremely Well Prepared. Good presentation + timing. Wood recommend course to others”
“Jim did a great job. He brought much to the classroom with his former career and training”
“Awesome! Would definitely do this course with him again”
“Excellent!! Super knowledgeable and able to relate to everyone in class.”
